GlobalFoundries will partner with Capital Region BOCES Career and Technical School on a new engineering technician program for both high school and adult students starting in fall and spring 2018.
This program reflects Capital Region BOCES' on-going efforts to work with business partners like GlobalFoundries to enhance workforce development. The partnership is designed to help create a steady pipeline of technicians who will be trained and prepared for careers as maintenance technicians, process technicians and production technicians.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, jobs in this field are projected to increase by 12.4 percent through 2026 and the median salary is $45,890 per year. This program will be available regionally to high school students during the day in addition to an adult education opportunity at night.
