SK Hynix held recently a "topping out" ceremony to celebrate a major milestone of the construction of its new 8-inch wafer fab in Wuxi, China, according to industry sources. The facility is designed for the production of non-memory chips.
SK Hynix will start equipment move-in at its new 8-inch fab in Wuxi later in 2019, said the sources, adding that the facility will specialize in the production of display driver ICs, power management chips and CMOS image sensors with production capacity of 100,000 wafers monthly.
